What is Women on Wheels (WOW)?


WOW Women on Wheels is an initiative by the Government of Punjab aimed at empowering women by offering subsidized motorbikes. These motorbikes are specifically designed for trained and licensed women to improve their mobility and independence.

Which Motorbike is Offered Under WOW?


The motorbikes provided under the scheme are customized Honda Dream CD 70 models. These motorbikes come in a vibrant pink color, symbolizing the spirit of female empowerment.

Cost and Subsidies

  • Price of the Motorbike: The original price of the motorbike is Rs. 67,500.
  • Equity Subsidy: The Government of Punjab (GoPb) offers a subsidy of Rs. 24,975.
  • Loan Amount: The Bank of Punjab (BOP) finances Rs. 22,275, allowing women to pay in affordable monthly installments.
  • Monthly Installment: The monthly installment is Rs. 1,856 over a loan tenure of 12 months.

Additional Subsidies


The Government of Punjab offers:

Equity Participation: Rs. 24,975.

Markup Subsidy: Women will pay zero markup on the loan, as GoPb covers the entire markup. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the WOW motorbike, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Women aged between 18 and 40 years.
  • Must possess a valid CNIC.
  • Must have a motorcycle driving license or a learner’s license.
  • Must be a resident of Punjab, and either employed or studying in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, or Rawalpindi.
  • The monthly income of the applicant or guardian should not exceed Rs. 30,000.
  • Applicants must have a Secondary School Certificate (Matriculation).

Additionally, applicants must provide express consent from a parent or guardian and one guarantor, who can also be the parent or guardian.

Required Documentation


Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  • A completed application form (available at www.bop.com.pk).
  • A valid CNIC and a recent photograph.
  • An affidavit stating that the household income does not exceed Rs. 30,000.
  • A copy of the matriculation certificate.
  • Educational ID card or enrollment letter (if the applicant is a student).
  • A valid driving license or learner’s license.
  • A Punjab domicile certificate.

Application Process


The application can be submitted at any designated BOP branch along with a processing fee of Rs. 3,000. After submission, the documents will undergo verification by the DC office. If the number of applicants exceeds the available motorbikes, a balloting process will take place.

PostBalloting Procedures

Successful applicants will need to:

  • Open a bank account with BOP.
  • Deposit a down payment of Rs. 27,000.
  • Sign a loan agreement.
  • Obtain a motorcycle driving license (if using a learner’s license).
  • Submit proof of income.

Insurance and Penalties


The insurance covers theft and total loss, provided by an approved insurance company. If applicants fail to pay the monthly installment on time, a penalty of Rs. 10 per day will be charged. However, there is no prepayment penalty for early loan retirement.
